Realigning a brand identity
The Plymouth based practice of world renowned Chiropractor Wayne Whittingham was suffering from a real lack of cohesion when it came to it’s branding and communication.

A dated and awkward logo was in place but not used consistently and the clinic approached Fuel Communications to help update their image.
Good enough to eat!
I created this logo while working at Fuel Communications for a company in Plymouth who offer a mobile chocolate fountain service.

The shapes of the letters were hand drawn and intended to replicate luxurious, mouthwatering rich melted chocolate, flowing and dripping temptingly.

Alphablog: D is for Design Brief

This blog series has, thus far, been about top ten designs that I like or recommend. Today I am changing tack a little and offering a little bit of advice for other designers and their clients. The fourth alphablog post explains what to include in a design brief.

When I designed the new logo for Mutley Baptist Church in Plymouth I was able to confirm through my research something that I’d long suspected. A large proportion of logo design for churches around the world is terrible!
We’ve all seen the cheap and cheerful parish newsletters and welcome cards and the cheesy picture message postcards or bookmarks from Sunday School. Church logos often follow a similar, amateur theme.
