Background

Flag Football is a non-contact sport based on American Football with a focus on pace, technique and tactics and less on brute force.

Becoming more and more popular around the world, the UK has seen a rise in interest offering a route into participating for those already interested in the NFL as well as an introduction to the game for those of us not yet converted to the obsessive nature of the ‘other’ football.

Idea

Creating an identity for one of Britain’s foremost authorities and publicists of the world of Flag Football involved a suitably bold and athletic looking logo that could be used on social media as well as on merchandise and apparel.

Execution

I developed a mark that saw the familiar shaped ball constructed from a flowing, spiraling flag and dominated with the obligatory colour palette of red, white and blue.

In true ‘football’ style the mark and type could be deconstructed to offer a versatile system that could work in a variety of colours and on a range of applications.
